Today is Mahatma Gandhi's day of birth. The only saint of modern times.
As a average Indian i am grown up learning about BAPU's non-violence stories which i have never been able to understand and appreciate, i believe there are million of people like me who never understood this while they were growing up. It needs immense strength to follow non-violence, & Bapu proved himself against all odds.
I am born in a free INDIA and don't know how it feels like to be a slave. I owe my freedom to Bapu & all the freedom fighters of India from the 1st war of independence to 1947.

Mahatma Ghandhi was just one of the 100's of saints that Mother india has given to her country mens time and again.
Just turn your histroy book pages buddy and you'll get quite a few of them.
Shankaracharya, Gautham Buddha, Basavanna and many more.
What Ghandhiji did for this country was truly great, and surely he is one of the greatest sons of mother india, but he just upheld the preachings of these great saints, and showed how these preachings hold true even in this modern world.
