Lay-offs
“A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose your job” Quoted in Time, 22 Feb. 1954. Frequently attributed to Harry Truman, but the earliest evidence of Truman’s using it is later than 1954.
A quote copied from internet. which is 100% true.
I am hearing a lot of things like ... lay-off at this company ....so many people laid-off in that company.... X company to lay off Y number of people in z number of years and so on. All these were a NEWS items for me till last week, when i saw a lay-off at my company. I had a meeting with my program manger in the morning and life was going as usual. I went to the kitchen & got myself the coffee and was entering the lab when i saw my program manger being escorted with his Manager. I couldn't see the expression on his face.
For few minutes i felt so bad about him. This is the first layoff of this kind i am seeing(Earlier i have seen the layoff of my roommates, but then the scenario was different). When the economy is doing bad and when the no job in any company, this lay off would cost you more than ever imagined. All the weekend and throughout the week my mood was down. Thinking & Re-Thinking of whats happening around me. Some greedy buggers betting money on something have spoiled everything, literally everything. They have screwed up almost everyones life around the world. I feel only hard core communist countries are least affected by such things. The system has been systematically screwed up to an extent that it would require lots of lots of efforts to set it right.
With a Hope in my Heart that it would be alright after a while, i am moving on & Wish all the best for the people out there.

SATYAM
I am hearing the NEWS about SATYAM from few days now. Am bit worried about all my friends who are working there. More Tensed about the echo system surrounding SATYAM. Because its not only the engineers and their families but also the guys who enable the engineers to work seamlessly for 8Hrs a day. The guy preparing the Coffee/Tea/Juice, or the person managing the garden or the security personal or the guy who manges the office supplies and lot more. If you take a ratio of engineer to enablement staff then that would be 1 is to 2.5 or so. So the total ecosystem of SATYAM would not merely 53K engineers + their families but somewhere around 160K + Families.
Few Greedy management guys are responsible for all this mess. The creator has become a destroyer of SATYAM. I don't know, its the pressure on him which made him to do this or his GREED. In either case the echo system is hit badly and I pray GOD for a smooth transitioning of this company. May the echo system gets the extra energy to drive this company through this difficult phase and not let the hopes down.

SCHOOL DAYS
Its been a while i have not written anything in my blog. Many of my blog fans are complaining about that. I was little busy you know [;)].
I had a nice holiday time at the end of last year which i spent with my frnd's in COLD east coast. I would be starting to work from tomorrow. Am little tired of my vacation time and little NERVOUS that i need to go to work tomorrow. Not actually NERVOUS but SAD. Not SAD but a mixed felling which i am not sure of what to call it as? Am sure many of you will also be having such mixed feeling to go to office after a long holiday season.
Its good to be on vacation but worse to return back to normal routine. Suddenly i realized, i used to have the same kinda feeling to go back to school after our summer vacation. I still remember the two parts in me, 1st one wants to go to school and he is bored with the summer time and wants to learn more and grow older and the 2nd daemon wants to play in that MID DAY bright sunlight (Temp is often between 30~40 degree centigrades). At the end June 1st is all set to ROCK us with a new class room, new benches to scratch, new books to write, new pen and pencil, some new teachers, some old buddies and some new. But here in my case i will be having the same old stuff[:(]. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at my state now. Anyways its all what i can have for now & hope that would be the BEST i deserve. That's why i named this as "SCHOOL DAYS".
i wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR guys and have a nice time @ your SCHOOLS with some promotions in your personal & professional life [:)].

Anger ... Agony ...& Fear is what is left in my Heart
After a weeks of NEWS about Mumbai terror attach.... my heart is crying. I am having mixed emotions of Anger ... Agony ... & Fear. I don't know whom to blame to or whom to trust onto now. Few trained people created such a chaos, whole of Billion ppl saw the scene.
Few question arise in my mind
Q. Who is responsible for all these ?
A. We the people. Our love to nation has decreased over a period of time and every one is behind his own life think what he would get out of it. Definitely if there is something called PQ(patriotic quotient) just like IQ & EQ, which can be measured then we will get to know that the PQ among us is reduced over the period of 60 years. Large population and struggle for basic necessities in life have put my fellow countrymen in such a big web that, he comes out of one web to find himself trapped in another bigger.
Q. why this all happened in a FREE & DEMOCRATIC Country like mine?
A. Lousy Politics & political leaders, Greedy security officers & a number of nations who wants to be on top by depressing the developing once and above all OUR Dear Loving brotherly Neighbours.
Q. what does terrorist want to prove from this incident ?
A. They want to spread the terror in the eye of people like me.
Q. Are terrorist successful ?
A. YES.
Q. How does this end ?
A. Sadly i don't see any end to such incidents in my country.
When there was an attack on 9/11, President of United States(Mr. Bush) said that he would get the culprits to justice("Guilty will be punished" were his words). Though he was not 100% successful in getting the culprits to justice he did gave out a strong message to the culprits that if you attempt to do such thing, you will be terrorised by us so badly that you need to live in caves for the rest of your life hiding from us for your life. When such thing happen in INDIA we look after the F**King United Nations to put pressure on the countries sponsoring these event. It's like we have lost the battle and looking upto some stronger than us for help. I was more ashamed of, when Indian PARLIAMENT was attached and no action was taken. I wish a strong leader like Shastrigi or Indira were the PM at this moment or when parliament was attacked to take a bold step forward to end this once for all.
Though i say that these kind of terror attacks won't stop. I have a ray of hope wherein my country will tackle this issue with PEACE.

OCT 2nd
Today is Mahatma Gandhi's day of birth. The only saint of modern times.
As a average Indian i am grown up learning about BAPU's non-violence stories which i have never been able to understand and appreciate, i believe there are million of people like me who never understood this while they were growing up. It needs immense strength to follow non-violence, & Bapu proved himself against all odds.
I am born in a free INDIA and don't know how it feels like to be a slave. I owe my freedom to Bapu & all the freedom fighters of India from the 1st war of independence to 1947.
Jai Hind.

Smoking ban comes into effect
Nice to see "Smoking ban comes into effect".
May not be good for ITC, but well many non-smokers are spared by this law. Not only non-smoker but smoker too. As they would be buying less of rolled tobacco, b'coz they can't just smoke in any place they want. So in a way saving the some bucks in their pocket as well as the most important thing "Their Health".
I love to see Govt. stand by this law as strictly as it can.

Lazy Weekends
As a wise man said "Change is the only constant thing in the world. Rest all are Changing."
God Damn it !!!
i looked at my mobile for the time and its 2.30PM & i am about to get up not after a short NAP in the afternoon but from the night sleep.
My weekends are changing from the time i adapted to the weekend culture. I used to wait for the Mondays(As Sundays were only 1/2 day holiday & Mondays were the weekly holiday for me during my school day, though i used to hate it as i missed all the FUN FILLED Sunday Serials). As i grew up and started going to college it was much fun as i never attended all the classes of the day completely(College time was like full time weekend time). When started working in some crappy software company i hated the afternoons(I got used to having nice NAP, in fact a 2 hrs sleep in the afternoon, while in college) which i can't enjoy while working. But i was gradually stacking up the 2hrs NAP Period of the week to the weekend.
In Bangaluru i used to get up at 7.30~8.00, to eat my favourite Paddu at Nalapak or some fast food center on the way to Basaveshwar Nagar(Sorry i don't remember its name [:(]). Its not because i love to get up and have my breakfast but we won't get the Paddu after 9.30. A while after i moved here, i got used to get up at 9-9.30, jess to cook either Upittu/Avalakki/or some new Dish as Breakfast. Time passed on i kept on changing with loosing the enthu to cook some favourite breakfast and started BRUNCH culture. After a while got bored with that and stared looking out for restaurants for BRUNCH(as restaurants open at 11-11.30AM in the morning). Now i don't even get up to have the BRUNCH of the weekend. If i have nothing planned for the weekend then i get up only late afternoon(2-3 PM) not because i am bored by sleeping but because my damn Hunger has gone to such a peak that i could even EAT A HORSE.
Do i really love to sleep so much ??????
i guess NO.
Why do i sleep so much till late afternoon????
i guess i have become a LAZY ASS.
How do i change this????
Keep my busy during the weekends....which i am not able to do until now. [:(]
